DAY 01: Mumbai
GeTS Holidays executives will receive you at Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport Mumbai. Your welcome will be a testimonial of Indian culture and a glimpse of your future tour. GeTS Holidays executive will escort you to the hotel of your choice. En route you may catch your first glimpses of Mumbai. We will arrange your stay in a hotel of your choice.
Day 02: Mumbai
The islands forming today’s Mumbai were given to Charles II of England in dowry in 1661. In 1845 the seven islands were merged through the construction of Mahim causeway. In 1853, India’s first railway line joining Thana and Bombay was inaugurated.
In 1911, the ‘Gateway of India’, a 26 m high structure, was built in honour of King George V and Queen Mary. In close proximity is the Taj Mahal Hotel, built by JN Tata in 1903. The Prince of Wales Museum is a superb structure, built in Moorish and Gothic styles. The Museum has a fine collection of Indus Valley artefacts, priceless Tibetan and Nepali Art, Buddhist tankha scrolls. Tibetan bronzes and over 2000 miniature paintings. Close by is the Bombay Natural History Society, having a wide collection of flora and fauna.
Day 03: Mumbai – Goa
After breakfast, a small ferry will take you on the famous Elephanta Island. This island is famous for their stone sculptures. UNESCO has declared it a World Heritage site. These temples were built during 9th to 13th century. The Chalukyas of Badami and the Rashtrakuta of Manyakheta were patrons of these caves. The Trimurti or trinity of Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh is superb structure. The temple complex is considered as the second home of Shiva next to Kailasa.
We will fly you to Goa in the afternoon. Goa is the living legend of Portuguese legacy. A representative of GeTS Holidays will receive you at the Airport and arrange your stay in a hotel of your choice. You will love to visit beaches and pubs of Goa in the evening.
Day 04: Goa
Goa is known as "Pearl of the Orient" and often called a "Tourist Paradise". The glorious scenic beauty and the architectural splendours of its churches and the Portuguese old houses have made Goa a tourist hotspot. Goa is much more than sea, beaches and fascinating nightlife. Its spirit lies in its rich culture, natural scenic beauty and unique history. As par the Hindu mythology, Parshuram an incarnation of Vishnu had created Goa.
Goa has many rivers like Mandovi, Zuari, Chapora, Sal and Talpona. Panjim is the capital of Goa. Some famous beaches are Agonda, Cavelossim, Movor and Vanabor beach. Goa is also famous for churches like Basilica of Bom Jesus, a World Heritage site and Cathedral and Church of the Three Magi Kings. Goa is also famous for the Shanta Durga Temple, the Shri Manghesi Temple, the Mahalaxmi Temple and the Shri Ganpati Temple. Goa is known for rice, fish-curry and fenny, a local variety of wine. In Goan cuisine spices and seafood like prawns, ladyfish, mussels and lobsters are necessary ingredients. Goa is a famous centre of the Hippie culture and known for their love of music, drugs and free sex.
Day 05: Goa-Cochin
After breakfast we will board you in a flight for Cochin or Kochi. A representative of GeTS Holidays will receive you at the Airport and arrange your stay in a hotel of your choice. This harbour city is situated in the state of Kerala and known for its scenic beauty. It is the biggest city in Kerala. The Chinese fishing nets are unique to Cochin. A walk along Fort Kochi beach in the evening is refreshing. Other attractions are St. Francis Church, Vasco House, Jewish Synagogue and Jew Town, Santa Cruz Basilica, Bolghatty Palace, Dutch Palace (Mattancherry Palace), Museum of Kerala History, Kalamassery and Mangalavanam Bird Sanctuary
Day 06: Cochin - Kumarakom
After breakfast a representative of GeTS Holidays will drive you to gorgeous town of Kumarakom and arrange your stay in a hotel of your choice. It is an ideal site for collecting shells. There are many lagoons surrounded by coconut groves. This is a place with leisurely options like spa, Ayurvedic massage, meditation, yoga, fishing and swimming. If you wish we will arrange your stay at a houseboat in the backwaters. A boat ride in the backwaters during evening is a fascinating experience.
Day 07: Kumarakom - Alleppey
After breakfast a representative of GeTS Holidays will drive you to Alleppey and arrange your stay in the Marari Fishermen Village Beach Resort. The place in known for the Ayurvedic treatments it offers. It is major centre of coconut coir work and prawn farming.
Ambalapuzhais atempleof lord Krishna built in typical Kerala Style of architecture. Karumadikkuttan is the site of a black granite statue of the Buddha.Champakulam is also the place of oldest angadi or market. It is called Kalloorkkadu angadi.
The other major attraction is the snake boat race organised during August.
Day O8: Alleppey - Kovalam
In the morning drive to Kovalam with a representative of GeTS Holidays and we will arrange your stay in a hotel of your choice. Kovalam is known as the paradise of the Arabian Sea. It is known for scenic beauty and serenity. One may walk into the sea up to 100 metres without losing ground. This is the safest place for swimming. It offers all kind of water-sports.
We shall visit the famousPadmanabhapuramPalace, built entirely of timber. It was constructed during 18th century.
Day 09: Kovalam - Trivandrum
Trivandrum is the capital of Kerala. It is called the city of snakes. This city is built over seven hills. The city is known for its scenic beauty, astonishing greenery and shinning beaches. The Maharaja of Travancore built Shri Padmanabhaswamy Vishnu Temple in 1733. This temple is open for Hindus only. The Napier museum is known for astonishing collection of ivory carvings, ancient musical instruments and bronze statues.
Day 11: Trivandrum
GeTS Holidays will fly you back to Delhi and help you to check in hotel of your choice.
