South India is a land of history and culture, antiquity and modernity, textile and software industries, beaches and temples, nature and scenic beauty. Seas from three sides surround this peninsula; the Arabian Sea from west, the Indian Ocean from south and the Bay of Bengal from the east. It was almost impossible to travel from North to South India through impermeable Vindhyas. Thus in ancient and medieval times contact between northern and southern part of the country was restricted. The culture of South India is distinctive.
Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam are principal languages. Konkani is popular in the west-coast. South India has a distinctive style of architecture known as the Dravida Style. The characteristic features are elaborate gateways known as ‘gopurm’, ‘mandapam’ & ‘kalyanmandapam’ in front of sanctum and pyramid shaped grand ‘shikhara’.

In south Indian tour of GeTS Holidays you will have tryst with the colonial legacy of Chennai, temples of Mahabalipuram, Madurai and Thanjavur, the French antiquity of Pondichery, backwaters of Cochin and Kumarakom, the land of three seas Kanyakumari and much more.
